30 years ago, Perillo painting presented to Nancy Reagan
14.10.11
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Thirty years ago, Daytop Foundation Inc. commissioned artist Gregory Perillo to create a painting of then-first lady Nancy Reagan ,
who was a great supporter of Daytop and was being given the second annual Promethean
Award at the New York Hilton's Grand Ballroom on Oct. 27.
Our sources reveal that on that very evening, Perillo got to
meet Mrs. Reagan and presented her with the romantic painting titled "The
Cowboy and His Lady." It depicted President and Mrs. Reagan and their
beautiful white Arabian horse.
The painting made its way to Washington,
D.C., and now hangs in the Ronald Reagan
Library in California.
On Oct. 27, 1981 – almost 30 years to the day – the Advance
ran a photo of the exquisite work of art.
Thanks, Mr. Perillo!
