Erstaunlicherweise läuten beide Soundtracks gleichzeitig auch eine neue Ära bei Pink Floyd ein. "Music From the Film More" (1969) ist nicht nur die erste komplette Filmmusik von Pink Floyd, sondern zugleich das erste Album ohne Syd Barrett, "Obscured By Clouds" (1972) hingegen ist das erste Album, auf dem Pink Floyd einen Synthesizer verwendet (Gilmour einen VCS3).
