Hendrix Alumni to be honored for their life's Odyssey
Hendrix College will present Odyssey Medals to six alumni at a special 2011 Founders Day convocation a 11:10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 27 in Staples Auditorium.
The 2011 Odyssey Medal recipients are:
• Wendy R. Anderson 1993 for Global Awareness
• William Ragsdale 1983 for Artistic Creativity
• Tommy Sanders 1976 for Special Projects
• Benjamin Schumacher 1982 for Research
• William C. Temple 1973 for Professional and Leadership Development
• Dr. Joe Thompson 1984 for Service to the World
Hendrix will also honor Bill Fox 1960, who received the 2009 Odyssey Medal for Professional and Leadership Development and was unable to attend the awards ceremony.
Odyssey Medals are awarded to alumni whose life achievements exemplify the ideals of Your Hendrix Odyssey: Engaging in Active Learning, the college’s nationally recognized engaged learning initiative.
Through their personal and professional accomplishments, Odyssey Medal winners have demonstrated the value of liberal arts education and hands-on learning.
