Audiences will be captivated by this tale of bravery, love, betrayal, and human frailty, woven into the rich tapestry of a time long past and set to an unforgettable musical score. Based on T. H. White 's "The Once and Future King," the show takes place in Medieval England, where King Arthur, inspired by his lovely Queen Guenevere, establishes a new kind of court. The Knights of the Round Table, whose motto is "might for right," are dedicated to chivalry and high minded ideals. But the plot thickens as the handsome Sir Lancelot catches the queen's eye and others threaten to discredit the court and king. With his honor at stake and enemies lurking, King Arthur must make hard decisions as he attempts to keep his ideals alive. The original 1960 Broadway production starred Richard Burton and Julie Andrews and was the winner of four Tony Awards. It enjoyed several successful Broadway revivals; a film version was released in 1967.
