Brownlow Medal history beckons for Chris Judd or Adam Goodes

Skilton, who won the medal with the Swans in 1959, '62 and '68, agreed. He said it would be fitting if either won the count but admitted he was hoping for Goodes because of his connection to the Swans.

"We'd welcome them in (to the triple Brownlow club)," Skilton said.

TRIPLE BROWNLOW WINNERS

HAYDEN BUNTON (FITZROY) - 1930, '32 AND '35

HAYDN Bunton remains the only footballer to win Brownlow Medals in his first two seasons of league football.

Described by one newspaper as having "the grace of a ballet dancer and the film-star looks", Bunton stamped himself as one of the greatest players of all-time by becoming the first player to win the game's highest individual honour on three occasions.

In a year in which the 3-2-1 votes were first introduced, Bunton won the medal in 1931 - beating Footscray's Allan Hopkins by a vote - before backing it up the following season to win again by seven votes.
