At 84, Belafonte is still handsome, with the same chiseled features, mocha skin and piercing eyes that made white women swoon at a time when Southern Jim Crow laws forbade him from using the same public restrooms as their boyfriends. True, the skin is lined now, and Belafonte's slow, tentative movements betray his age.
