PRECINCT 13: Bob Jones

Bob Jones isn’t crazy, but many of his friends and former council colleagues think he is.

Jones is looking to return to the town council after an eight-year absence. In 2003, redistricting moved him into a head-to-head with Greg Milne in a precinct that was predominantly Milne’s former Precinct 9.

Milne won that race, and Jones was off the council after serving a single four-year term. That hit him hard at the time, but he adjusted and stayed involved. He continues to represent Barnstable as a member of the Steamship Authority’s Port Council, successfully ran and served on the 2007-09 charter commission and most recently chaired the Coastal Resources Management Committee.

He tallied up his service to the town. Since 1973, Jones has served on 15 different town boards and committees, three of them as an elected member.
