Night of the Living Dead 1968 - Which DVD edition should I get?

There are so many editions of that movie on DVD, it's hard to decide which one to get.


I thought there was only the original black and white and the colour version either way i love both of them.Get them both.

The Return of the Living Dead

OK, history lesson! The original Night of the Living Dead from 1968 was co-written by George Romero and John Russo. The two split up, with Romero retaining the rights to make zombie movies he created himself, while Russo retained the rights to the title "Living Dead." Thus, each made his own series of zombie flicks, and while such Romero joints as Dawn of the Dead are better known in the mass culture, the 1985 adaptation of Russo's novel The Return of the Living Dead is a rip-roaring affair in its own right. Screenwriter and director Dan O'Bannon, who also worked on the likes of Alien , Heavy Metal and Total Recall , wanted to go in a different direction from Romero—hence the tagline, "They're back from the grave and ready to party!"
