Safety Program Announced by Commissioner

A new "full scale safety program" will see a timed signal light installed at San Pablo Avenue and Wall Street, with plans for future lights at San Pablo's intersections with Cutting Boulevard and the Eastshore Highway, City Councilman Millard E. Bostock, who also serves a Commissioner of Public Safety, told the City Council. Also in the works is center striping for San Pablo.

Arrest of Youthful Trio Solves Thefts

Three 16-year-old boys admitted involvement in a series of burglaries of businesses on Fairmount Avenue. One lad also led police to a stashed machine gun in Kensington Park that had been stolen from the trunk of George Cake while his car was parked at the Mira Vista Country Club. (Some readers may recall that the pilfering of Mr. Cake's small arsenal was re-reported by Patch last month.)
