PORTSMOUTH — Gov. John Lynch joined Service Credit Union officials at a Topping Out Ceremony on Thursday to signify a milestone in the new building's construction.
"I believe Service Credit Union has a lot to do with making New Hampshire the special state it is," he told a crowd of workers and supporters wearing hard hats.
The new 19,000-square-foot building is still just a framework of what the final building will look like. It will stand just across from the Portsmouth Fire Station 2 on Lafayette Road and was designed by architectural firm Gund Partnership.
Sporting his own hard hat, Lynch took a moment to sign the final beam before it was hoisted up to the rooftop.
