17.10.11
The Midnight Movie series, for example, gets the Halloween season started with a screening of Sam Raimi's 1981 horror-comedy "Evil Dead" Friday and Saturday (Oct. 21 and 22). It follows that up with midnight screenings of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" on Oct 28 and 29, as well as a special screening on Halloween night itself.
On Nov. 25 and 26, the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, the 1987 John Hughes holiday road comedy "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" -- starring Steve Martin, as a man determined to get home for Thanksgiving, even if it means traveling with John Candy -- gets the midnight spotlight.
The Classic Movie Series gets into the spirit on the weekend of Nov. 26, with 1947's Oscar-winning classic "Miracle on 34th Street," about a department-store Santa who insists he's the real deal. It screens at noon on Nov. 26, 27 and 30.
Here are the full upcoming schedules for both screening series. Visit the Prytania Theatre website to buy tickets:
