Sherpa's Top 10: Best FBI movies
01.01.70
Clint Eastwood stays behind the camera to direct Leonardo
DiCaprio in "J. Edgar," the biopic about the longtime
FBI director J. Edgar Hoover. The movie opens today and
co-stars Naomi Watts and Judi Dench.
While the FBI has been mentioned or referred to in thousands of
movies, let's take a look today at the best in which "the bureau"
is in the forefront -- not comic relief, such as with Yaphet Kotto
in "Midnight Run" and Hank Azaria in "Grosse Point Blank,"
or coming in right at the end, as happens in numerous films like
"Collateral."
We didn't take those into account. For our list, the FBI agent
or agents had to be integral parts of the story.
10. Face/Off (1997): John Travolta is a
grieving FBI agent who undergoes a face transplant (yes, a face
transplant) so he can infiltrate the organization of arch-villain
Nicholas Cage. But hijinks ensue when Cage escapes and goes hunting
for Travolta. John Woo directed.
9. Mississippi Burning
